An express self-tan can shorten the time you wear the formula before showering without delivering its finished colour at that moment. Check both the rinse instructions and the development window before planning around an event. What Quick Flick’s 10-minute claim actually describes
Quick Flick’s Australian page for 10 Minute Express Whipped Self Tan says it can be rinsed after ten minutes for a natural bronze, with longer wear intended for deeper colour. Its FAQ says the tan continues developing for up to 24 hours. That distinction matters: a short wear time is not a promise of finished colour in ten minutes.
The brand advises applying to freshly exfoliated, clean, dry skin, moisturising dry areas and blending with a mitt. Those are instructions for this formula. Check the current pack rather than transferring the timing to another Quick Flick product or a different brand.
Another express formula, another clock
Bondi Sands’ Australian 1 Hour Express Self Tanning Foam page gives rinse choices of one hour for light, two for medium and three for deep colour. Its FAQ says development continues for six to eight hours after the guide colour is washed away. The manufacturer instructs rinsing with warm water without soap and gently patting dry.
These examples show why comparing only the large number on the bottle is unhelpful. The two brands describe different wear and development windows; neither timetable establishes which gives a better finish. This is a directions comparison, not a performance ranking.
A practical checklist before you buy
First, write down when you need to shower and when you want the final appearance. Match both to the exact product directions. For a new formula, allow a trial on a day without an important event rather than relying on a headline claim.
Second, compare the same formula and bottle size across Australian listings. Include any mitt and delivery charge in your total. A cheaper bottle is not necessarily the cheaper complete purchase, and a bundle is only useful if you need its contents.
Third, read the ingredient list and warnings on your pack. Avoid assuming that express, natural-looking or hydrating means the product will suit everyone. Follow any patch-test instruction and stop using a product if irritation occurs.
Fake-tan colour is not sun protection
Cancer Council Australia explains that fake-tan colour does not protect against UV radiation. Even a tanning product containing sunscreen does not provide protection for the whole life of the colour. Continue using clothing, sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, shade and sunglasses as appropriate. A cosmetic tan is optional; it is not a reason to change your sun-protection routine.
